Berlin Cheap Transportation Ticket; Berlin Day Pass

Berlin as a capital city is quite a big city and for sure there are many tourism spots and places that must be visited when we are there. I been to Berlin last week and I found that by having a day ticket for transportation is really help me to save a lot for transportation cost around the city.

There are several package for tourist regarding transportation ticket around the city such as BerlinCityTourCard and BerlinWelcomeCard. You may buy them, as besides you can use those ticket for transportation, the ticket also entitle for discount in several museums. However, since I'm a student and with my student card I can get discount to entering museum and other attraction spots there is no need for me to get those card. A Simple Day Ticket or Group Day Ticket will do because it's more cheaper then the BerlinCard.
Therefore here I will give tutorial on how you can get your Day Ticket in the Automate Ticket Machine that available in all station in Berlin. With these tickets you can go wherever you want in Berlin because it can be use for bus, S-line and U-line trains.

First is tutorial for single traveler that need a Day Ticket
  • On below screen you just need to choose what type of Day Ticket you need according to the zone which you want to travel inside Berlin. All the Important tourism spots mostly located in zone A & B. Therefore I selected a Day Ticket in zone A&B. As for the single ticket is valid for all transportation for duration of 2hours only and it cost 2.80euro/adult and 1.4euro/Children.

  • The next screen will bring you to the payment screen and as you can see the Day Ticket only cost you 6.30Euro/adult/day.

Second tutorial for Traveler in a group and need Group Day Ticket
  • If you are travelling to Berlin in a group of at least 3 persons to max 5persons. Below are the tutorial on how you can get your Group Day Ticket
  • Click ---> other tickets

  • Click---> Group day pass for up to 5 People

  • Choose your preferable Zone. (example zone A&B)

  • Payment screen. It Cost only 15Euro for a group ticket of max 5 persons ( each person only pay 3euro for 1 day transportation cost) if you are in a group of 3persons still each person only pay 5euro/day. still cheaper then a Day Ticket (6.30Euro).

Note that this Group Day Ticket is a piece of ticket, therefore you must always travel with your group together using this 1 piece of ticket. You can't split up.

I hope this post can help you enjoy the city of Berlin to the max. Have a good day :)

Trip to BMW Plant;Leipzig Germany

My campus held a trip to visit BMW plant in Leipzig last Monday (6/6). It was a nice trip as it free from the transportation till the guided tour in the BWM plant. Also, the weather forecast said that it gonna be a rainy day but on that day the weather just nice. The sky was dark but no rain, windy and not too hot.

On the bus. (left to right: Martina, Me, Ira and Any)

It took around 2.5 hours from Hof to arrive in Leipzig. Below are the entrance of the BMW Plant. No photos is allowed inside the building. so bad. It really cool inside I can tell :D
Me & Iris so ready to see The Making of BMW.  The goggle is needed as we visited the making of the body part of the car. Many robots in that room.
On the Receptionist while waited for the tour start.
After finished tour in BMW plant we were given 4hours free time to explore Leipzig City Centre.

Leipzig is a nice city for shopping and relaxing but not much for sightseeing. We went to Panorama Tower and from here you can see the whole city. the entry fee is 3euro.
On the top of the tower
One of my favorite photo :)

We split into several groups when exploring the city and we found this group of Any, Ira and Aileen sunbathing. hahahaha...  Leipzig was quite small and we need only few hours too see almost everything and we still have enough time for sunbathing. :)

Speisen Getranke; Nice Restaurant in Bamberg, Germany

Speisen Getranke located strategically in the heart of Bamberg's city center as well as the tourism site.  It just 2 minutes walk from the little Venice and if you are came from the biggest Cathedral in Bamberg, You just need to find a round stair and this restaurant located exactly on the road after the stair.

The restaurant is the building with blue color window.

Here is the menu on the restaurant
They have multi-languages menu. In our table we have menu in German, English and Spanish language. The prices for the food are very good and the most importantly is we had a wonderful Lunch in this restaurant.

This restaurant is famous for it's Roasted Pork Shank ( menu no 1 in local specialty) with only 8.50 euro inclusive tax. The portion is big and it come with sauerkraut and potato dumpling. I don't like potato dumpling as for me it tasteless and strange. So I change my potato dumpling with fries :)

Here is the Famous Roasted Pork Shank:

Smell good, crispy outside and juice inside. However, for me it taste a bit salty. But my Friends who had the same dish said it was ok. So, its only me the ones who feels this dish a bit salty because I don't like salty food  ^^V

We were enjoying our lunch in this restaurant a lot because of  it's nicely prepared food and also very comfortable place. I saw in others table all dishes they have look very nice and serve professionally. Highly Recommended Restaurant.

Special Things in Germany

As you know sausages is everywhere in Germany. It is the most convenient food you can find here. Easy to find, prepare and of course all of them are tasty because till now I haven't find any Germany sausages that I don't like.

As in the picture above, in my left hand side is the famous Nurnberg sausage. It is small and it is a grill/ fried sausage. The taste is quite different and unique if we compare with other sausage. It is because most of the sausages are strong in the meat flavor where as the Nurnberg sausage is rich of spices therefore the meat flavour are not as strong as other sausages.

Below is the picture of the Nurnberg sausage when I tried it at the 1st time in Nurnberg city when I had city tour there few weeks ago.

On my right hand side you as can see is the white color packaging sausage. It is a typical boil sausage. I need only to boil the sausage few minutes in hot water, peal off the skin and it will ready to be consumed. It is a healthy sausage because they mix it with vegie inside and since we boil it therefore we can avoid oil intake.

Here are another type of sausages that are currently inside my frig:

The sigir (beef) sausage is a halal sausage. It also available in chiken flavor. As you know it is very difficult to find halal sausage in Germany as most of Germany sausage are made from pork meat. This sausage I found it a Turkish grocery store and the taste is almost the same with sausage that we can find in asia. That is why I like this sausage because I need to eat something that taste Asia and make me feels home :)

The other sausage is German pork sausage. Smell so nice when u grill it and of course it tasty.

This is my favorite dinner so far. Fresh salad mix with tomatoes and apples + 2 rolls of fried/grill sausages. Low carbo and yummy...

The most I hate fact about staying here is I can't find Chili Padi!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arrrrrrrggggggggggg!!!!!!
Food without spicy taste is annoying!!!   hahhahahaha....

The chili above is the smallest chili I can find here and it not spicy at all. Really miss Chilli padi: small red chili. Super Hot Chili.

Also, everywhere here they consume tomatoes sauce!! it is very difficult to find Hot Chili sauce. Lucky I found this Super hot Sriracha Scharfe Chillisauce. Of course the taste and hotness not as good as 'Sambal ABC" (Indonesia brand.my favorite),  but it is better than nothing.

Next thing that are unique and special for me here is that finally I got my Id and atm card with Filivi Alexander on it. ^^V

Most of my friend will know what I mean and for those who don't know the story,I will tell you now. My full name since I was born till november 2010 was Filivi. Yup, Filivi Only. I don't have family name. In my country it is a normal case even though sometime I face problem from my so-called "single word name" such as when I have to fill out personal detail when buying flight ticket. What I used to do is I filled up the first name and family name boxes with Filivi thus on my flight ticket it will appear as Ms. Filivi Filivi. It so funny hahahha...

I actually have no intention to add my family name on my name till I been accepted to be one of the representative from my campus for student exchange in Germany. It is because in Germany family name is very important and it is almost impossible to be in Germany as an individual without family name. I will absolutely face difficulty on applying my visa and other formal documents. Therefore on December 2011 I when to Indonesia Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and had my father name added into my name and I'm now Ms. Filivi Alexander. Love my new name :)

My 1'st German atm card as well as my 1'st atm card with Filivi Alexander written on the card. :)

My homemade simple lunch and snowing in Hof

Finally after 5days in Germany I found Rice  ^^
Don't you laugh at me, I'm an Asian and I need rice hahahha...
It enough for pasta, cheese and bread  :)
So, yesterday I went to grocery store with my temporary house-mate and I found all my necessary cooking ingredient like onions, garlic, salt, chicken, sugar, and vegie. We had to went shopping yesterday because today which is Sunday, most of the store are close.

So,here is my stuff.

The packaging all are different from what we have in Asia.
And thanks God today I had rice for my lunch  :)
I also made my self a mix vegie with chicken, onion and garlic.
its taste quite oke hahahah...
Oh ya, today I woke up early and saw for the very 1st time snow falling from the sky.
It was snowing outside my window.
Took some pictures but the snow not really obvious captured on the picture.

Viktualienmarkt;Open Market and other nice place in Munich

Quite shiny bright day we got today and we really thanks God for that.
Sonja said it been awhile they haven't enjoy sun shine.Today is really a great day for them.
As for me it really not enough hahahahaha..
The wind still felt so cold and it difficult for me to have a nice photo because i can't really feel my face.
whether I smiled enough or not for the photo hahhaha...
In conclusion i'm in "Weather Shock" mode on!!!

3rd stop: Viktualienmarkt.

4th stop: HofBrÀuhaus; The world’s most famous beer hall
If you order small or big glass of beer, you will get exactly 1 liter beers.
So, if u know that u cant finish 1 liter beer just don't waste your time to go in like what I did hahaha...

Munich Opera House
If you notice the building on the left side has it's wall color a bit strange.
It is because that building is under construction and they put a wallpaper that look alike with the original building appearance covering the whole wall. Smart!! :)
I forget what this building call hahahaha  ^^V
Taking photo with the guardian lion
With Zoe Yi Zhang from china and old euro money
Play with snow after the tour. Both of them are lovely girls. really nice to meet them  :)
